James Tenyenhuis, AIA

Field Operations
With a background in architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design, James aims to improve cities through the creation of signature public realm projects in complex urban and post-industrial sites. At Field Operations, James has led interdisciplinary teams on a number of large and international, high-profile public realm and master planning projects in Seattle, Vancouver, Dubai, and Doha. James’ work integrates public realm design, landscape, and architecture together on radically constructed sites: urban areas that are built anew or which repurpose abandoned industrial zones, infrastructure, or waterfronts. These complex sites demand a collaborative, cross-disciplinary approach that integrates the work of environmental, ecological, social, climate, engineering, architecture and landscape experts, all while building broad-based consensus and prioritizing people and ecology.
James is a licensed architect and earned his Bachelor of Architectural Science degree from Ryerson University and Master of Landscape Architecture and Master of Architecture degrees from the University of Pennsylvania.
